Friday Photos

Last Saturday, the Target Distribution Center (DC) where Seth works had a Company Picnic at the DC. Seth had oversight over the event so he was there for the whole event (including set-up and clean-up). Jane Anne and the kids showed up late in the day to enjoy the festivities. This is the only time that non-Target employees are allowed inside the DC for a tour. The picnic also had an inflated slide and jumpy toy for kids to enjoy. The boys loved that! We took quite a few pictures of the day so there are some photos as pictures and others in a slideshow.

This slideshow is from the DC tour and the boys enjoying the jumpy toys.

These photos show us getting to see Daddy's office. (And since some of you have asked, I made sure to post few pictures of me.)

SUMMER IS HERE!! I am not sure how long it will last but we are thrilled to be enjoying some hot temps. Right now it is 88 degrees. That's not hot for many of you but for us here in the NW, it is real heat wave. When it's hot, I like to let the kids play in water and cool off with popsicles.

The slip n slide pictures were taken on Monday. Everything else was taken today.

Catch the Reading Bug

This year the theme of the Summer Reading Program at our Library is: Catch the Reading Bug. Yesterday we went to the first event. A local bee keeper came to talk to the kids. She also brought along some bees. The boys loved it. I knew the bee keeper was going to be there but I didn't know the bees were. It was a wonderful surprise for us! The kids loved watching the bees. We learned a lot, including that only female bees can sting. The boys were given the opportunity to "hold" a bee. For the willing participants, the bee keeper put a small amount of honey on their hand and a bee. Both Jonathan and Thomas jumped at the chance to have a bee crawl on them. David opted not to. He had a lot of fun trying on the bee keeper hat.

Father's Day 2008

Our Father's Day was a lot of fun! We began it by trying out a new recipe: Paula Dean's Sunday Morning Casserole. It is a new favorite of Momma's since it is not only yummy but you make it the night before and put it in the oven in the morning. Daddy thought it was very tasty! We went to church in the morning. We came home and had chili hot dogs (perfect treat for Daddy) for lunch. In the afternoon, half the family took naps (including Daddy!). The boys gave Daddy their gifts. They each gave him picture that they drew and colored. They also gave him some new tea to try out. After dinner (roast, mashed potatoes, peas, and homemade biscuits), we all went outside for some fun. Daddy played soccer with the boys. Daddy loved on Elisabeth. Elisabeth tried out the baby swing for the first time. Daddy enjoyed pushing Thomas while everyone swung. It was a night of family time!

Here are some slideshows of the day:

Movie Time Monday: She's on the Move!

Elisabeth is on the move! If you are holding her, she will often arch her back wanting to get down on the floor. She loves rolling around and crawling. Everyone is excited (even Jonathan who often adds, "Oh no, nothing is safe now!")

Grilled Cheese Anyone?

Dad says, "I can make you a 'gr-ll' cheese."
Thomas says, "I don't want a 'gurl' one. I want a boy one."

(Clearly Dad uses the Southern pronunciation for a grilled cheese sandwich!)

David and Thomas giving Elisabeth some Batman love. Thankfully, she doesn't scare easy!

A sweet picture of Elsie - taken in between bites of baby cereal.

Jonathan right after he got home from school today. He came home excited to share about his school field day.

David took this picture of Daddy. It was a second attempt. Daddy did a good job of getting in the photo!

Jonathan Self Portrait

I took a picture of Jonathan and then he drew his self portrait.
