He's Not a Trooper

Today has been a rainy, rainy Saturday. The kids played soccer in the rain.

First, David and Thomas had team pictures.
After that, they had their game.
Then, Jonathan has his pictures followed by his game.

I was impressed with how well the kids handled the rain.

Momma: "Thomas, You sure are a trooper! You are all troopers."
Thomas: "No, Momma, I am not."
Momma: "What? Why not?"
Thomas: "You said that I am a trooper... but actually I am Darth Vader."

Soccer Time

Jonathan, David and Thomas are playing AYSO soccer this year. Seth is coaching Jonathan's team. David and Thomas are on the same team. (To be on the younger team, you had to be still 5 on August 31. David made it by 2 days and it is really nice to have them on the same team.)

Today was our first day of games. We had a blast. Coach Seth and Jonathan had a 9 a.m. game. David and Thomas had a game at 3:30. It was very, very hot (91 degrees) for their game.

Friday Fun

This morning, Elisabeth and I had time to ourselves. Jonathan and David were at school and Thomas was in preschool.

"While the boys are away, the girls will play."

First, I painted Elsie's nails.

Here she is checking them out and trying to blow them dry.

Then, we went out for a treat.

Momma got an iced latte and Elsie got a chocolate milk.

One day, her cup with hold the real thing. On this day, she enjoyed every drop of her chocolate milk.

What a fun Friday morning! This might have to be a regular mom daughter date.

Thomas is a Preschooler

Thomas started preschool on Wednesday. He had been looking forward to it for a long time. He is going to the same preschool where David went last year and he has the same teacher that David had.

Thomas was thrilled that his day finally came. We took lots of pictures to celebrate his special day.

Here he is - one excited 4 year old

Thomas said his favorite part of preschool was art. He got to paint and draw a picture on the first day. Here's a picture of him with his first preschool drawing.

David is a Kindergartener

Today was David's first day of Kindergarten. He had a wonderful day.

Here are some highlights.

This picture cracks me up. Thomas was upset because Jonathan and David were leaving for school and they were going to have fun when he wasn't.

David outside of his classroom. The room is being kept peanut-free. The kids left their lunches in a box outside the room.

David in class

I came to David's class and read Allie the Allergic Elephant. It is a story about an elephant that is allergic to peanuts. Then, the kids got a chance to taste sunbutter on crackers. Here's a picture of me reading to the class.

David eating lunch in the cafeteria. He sits at a newly established peanut-free table. David was excited about the friend he made today at school, which just happened to be the boy that sat with him at lunch.

David walking out of the school at the end of the day.

The funniest thing David said about school was this:

"My brain almost cried because it was so loud at school."

David is Six

David turned 6 on Sept. 2nd.

He requested pancakes for breakfast.

That afternoon we decorated cupcakes to celebrate.

That night after Jonathan and Daddy came home from soccer practice, David got to open one present. He was very excited about his new Webkin.

On Sunday, the 6th, David celebrated with a Transformer party.

There was an obstacle course.

There was a scavenger hunt. Here's David with a clue.

David enjoyed his cake.

There were two things that he really, really wanted at his party.

He wanted an Optimus Prime mask (and his buddy Luke has a Bumble Bee one).

He wanted a Pinata. At first the kids all took turns with a plastic bat. In the end, David got to use a metal bat to hit the pinata to pieces.

David had a fantastic birthday. It was fun to celebrate him.
