The sweetest thing I heard all day:
Thomas: Momma, I am gonna ask God to help me jump without holding on to anything.
The Funniest Thing I heard All Day:
David: Momma, Why are your boobies so big?
Momma: Because, that's the way God made me.
[A minute or two later both David and Thomas are lifting up their shirts.]
David: But, mine are so flat.
Thomas: AND, mine are so tiny!
The most adorable thing I saw all day:
I discovered this sign placed carefully in the "crawl space" going into the boys room. Apparantly after we moved Jonathan and his legos out of the living room, he decided he needed a sign to keep Elisabeth out of his room. It is obvious he gave it some thought: A sign for Elisabeth has to be at her level! It was taped to the floor.

Sunday Snapshots
I was so busy having fun on Friday with my friend Kim (who was in town from Washington) that I didn't make time to post pictures on Friday. Here are some recent pictures of the kids.
On Aug 16, a sweet moment happened and I just can't help but share all 4 pictures that I took. Elisabeth was crawling on the kitchen floor. Thomas ran and got a book and said that he was going to read to her. He sat there turning the pages and talking about the pictures. Elisabeth was interested... and by the very end was about to give the book a taste test.
Last weekend it was really hot (hit 101 one day). The kids spent a lot of time playing in water with the slip n' slide and pool. Here's a picture of David that I just love.
A week ago today, Jonathan was a part of the service at church. He spent some time during the week helping plan the worship. During the service he read a Bible verse. That Sunday, he asked to wear his hair spiked up. He had asked in the past but I had never let him. I decided that it might give him extra confidence (though he didn't seem nervous). Here's how he looked right before church.

Friday Photos
I took so many pictures last weekend that I had trouble picking a few to post. So, I am including a couple of slideshows along with the photos. The pictures are from last weekend. We played in the water a lot!

Lunch Time Conversation
Thomas: "Momma, you are my 'paret' (parent)."
Momma: "Yep, you are right."
Thomas: "And Daddy, too. He is my paret."
Momma: "What do you think abou that? Do you like us being your parents?"
Thomas: "Yes. But, Momma? You are a bird."
Momma: ?
Thomas: "A paret is a bird."
Momma: "Ohhh... Thomas parents aren't parrots."
Thomas: "But you and daddy are still birds."

Overheard at Dinner
Daddy to Momma: "She (Elsie) just let out a killer burp."
Momma: "What?"
Thomas to Momma: "Daddy just killed a bird."
I think this is how rumors start.

Birthday Quotes
Momma to Kids: Can anyone remember how old I am today?
Thomas: YA!! You are OOOOOOLLD!
- - - - - - - - - - -
Momma to Kids: I really like birthdays. It is easy to be happy on your birthday.
David: Yes, but there is one thing I don't like about birthdays. You get older. I don't want to be older because I DON'T WANT to be a grown-up!

Nice Try
Today David and Thomas were given popsicles (Jonathan was at a friends house). David ate his popsicle pretty fast. He started to complain about Thomas still having more popsicle left.
David: "It isn't fair...Thomas has more popsicle left."
Momma: "You ate yours faster than him."
David: "He just sucks on his popsicle."
David (with a sly smile): "Thomas sucks... He sucks... He SUCKS!"
(So, my almost 5 year old has picked this up somewhere...it sure makes me think...)

Friday Photos
Last Friday night the boys and Daddy camped out in the backyard. They roasted hotdogs by the fire, made smores, and sat outside looking at stars. Then, they tucked themselves snuggly inside the tent...until Thomas woke up screaming and cold at 3:30. He came inside and went happily to his own bed, while the rest of the boys finished their night camping.
