Oregon Camping

Last Monday we decided to go camping -on Friday. We went to Cove Palisades State Park. Lake Billy Chinook was beautiful. The scenery was amazing. We enjoyed beautiful weather, playing in the lake, sitting around a campfire as a family, roasting smores, and playing outside.

We also learned a lot about camping as a family of six. If you haven't seen my post about that, go and read it: Camping Lessons Learned

I took a ton of pictures. It is impossible for me to share only a few. This is probably more pictures than I should share on one blog post. I just can't help it. Enjoy!

Setting up the Camp Site

The boys loved hanging out on these rocks

Enjoying Our Morning Cup

Seth cooking breakfast

Playing at the Lake

Scenery

Enjoying the Campfire at Night

Elisabeth was already asleep. We brought her portable crib. The boys fell asleep one by one by the fire.

Jonathan fell asleep first

I was holding David when I realized that Thomas was asleep.

I asked David to get up so I could hold Thomas a bit. David went to get a drink.

I looked up and about fell out of my chair when I saw David asleep.

Enjoying after breakfast smores

We had an incredible time. We are already trying to figure out when we can go camping again.

I haven't had the guts to take our kids real camping, (I have never truly done it myself) We have camped out for family reunions, but this was always in somebodies yard, where we were close to electricity etc.

The McRae's always went camping like this growing up. What great memories! I recall one trip the Queens joined us on...it rained so much your tent flooded, then it snowed, then the Queens packed up and left. We stuck it out the rest of the weekend. I clearly remember our parents bailing water of our you tent while us kids colored and ate tootsie pops under the table awning. Strange that I remember the tootsie pops!

Love ya!

Looks like y'all had a great time. Glad y'all enjoyed the trip. =0)

The last time WE went camping was on the beach... in.the.sand. *sigh* NOT so fun in the sand! Tent stakes pull out, sand gets in your sleeping bags, and sleeping while that gritty just isn't exactly fun. Not too mention it was HOT. ha ha ha

That looks like so much fun. I have a picture of my dad when he was about your hubby's age sitting in that exact same position in front of a tiny grill like that while camping. I smiled looking at that particular picture, but all of them are great.

Thanks for all your comments on my Ask Me Anything posts.
